"Mojito"

Mojito (masculine gender, исп. Mojito) - cocktail on the basis of white rum and mint leaves. There are 2 types of a mojito: low alcohol and nonalcoholic. Occurs from the island Cuba, it became popular in the USA in the 1980th. There are some theories about a name "mojito" origin. One such theory says that the word occurs from исп. Mojo (Mocha, mojito - umenshitelno). Mocha - sauce allegedly in Cuba and on Canary Islands, usually garlic, pepper, lemon juice, vegetable oil, greens enter into it. Other theory argues that a mojito - this changed (исп. Mojadito, mind. from mojado) that "slightly damp" means. 

The mojito traditionally consists of five components: rum, sugar, lime, soda and mint. Its combination of a sweet and refreshing citrus with mint, which, probably, were added in rum to "disguise" a fortress of the last, made this cocktail one of the most popular summer drinks. In some hotels of Havana in a mojito add also Angostura. In a nonalcoholic mojito white rum replace with water with cane brown sugar.


Classical recipe of the Mojito

    lime
    mint leaves
    60 ml of white rum
    soda
    ice
    little brown sugar

For Mojito preparation juice of a lime add in sugar, tear mint leaves, all this is put in a high glass (Collins or Hayboll).

Then chipped ice is added, and rum and soda from above joins. At the cocktail most popular in the world undoubtedly heap of options. Someone likes to add strawberry, to someone orange or apple juice


The combination of sweet, acid of a lime and freshness of mint leaves nobody indifferent. They shade a rum fortress.
